Excellent work Kassia!!  I have this one one my netflix que.  I like the barre workouts too, only they drag for me often!DarcyOn Fri, Aug 21, 2009 at 6:27 PM, Kassia <ldy_solana@...> wrote:

well i didn't finish the whole workout b/c the power was knocked out somehow for TWO HOURS. but i did up to the butt lift. the warm up is a mix of lotte berks knee lifts, callanetics chair squat then body reach warm up, and some of her own mix of ballet type lunges. it was pretty graceful.then it was upper body lift. she didn't do anything out of the ordinary with shoulder lifts and threw in some different angles. it didn't kill me like pure barre or exhale but it was a nice burn. leg and butt lift seem to overlap. most exercises seemed to work both with small squeeze lifts and basic pilates bridges and ballet plies. there was plenty of stretching at each body part segment.

the dvd is programmable so you can do all or customize. its really a neat blend of pilates, barre, and traditional work. she doesn't overkill with reps so its great for

experience barre light days or beginners who want to get a taste of the barre workout without spending more then $15 for the dvd. kathy is kathy in this she is peppy and happy and uses " yummy " alot for the stretches but can over look all that silliness for the effectness of the workout

i didn't get to try the abs b/c the power went out during the final stretches of butt lift. i just did some kettlebell swing variations along with practicing my cleans and snatches. been doing a lot of ready njkettlebells.com blog archives for great workout ideas. they mainly work with crossfit ideas a lot of neat variations of exercises using sandbags, ropes and kettlebells. he is a nice guy i follow him on twitter.

well anyway power is obviously back on and not sure what to do now. working on some more trades for bellydance. i practice belly rolls during the day now. trying to get the feel and practice technique. something i really want to learn

again. stupid to give it up the first time around guess i had in mylittle mind that you couldn't do bootcamp weight lifting with dancey workouts. going to my beat now though make things interesting plus what loosens you up better then some bellydance control moves. makes the me loose to tackle kettlebells LOL

Thanks for the review on Kathy's workout! I don't think it is for me but I know especially because of reading your review and other people's comments. I'm glad that it was good for you though! I love the decision to follow your own heart and mind for workouts that you enjoy too, Kassia! Kettlebells & bellydancing sounds like a weird combination to me (because I don't do either probably!) BUT, if it works then it WORKS! Way to go on your great workouts!
