Guest guest
Many of you know about the book that and I have been working but I will explain for all of the new families before I give an update. Shortly after our son, Cole, was diagnosed with PIS a little over a year ago my husband and I decided to write a children's story to both raise money for ISOP and help be a gentle metaphor and introduction to Mehta casting for both children and families. It will hopefully be a wonderful story for all children, even those not affected by PIS. We have been working with a wonderful illustrator in sweden to get it illustrated. She has done a fantastic job! The book is looking beautiful! Where we are now is that we are going to copyright it in the next couple days. We should be receiving the original artwork and getting all the layout done in the next 3 weeks. Then we will be sending it out for an initial small print run to ensure that everything looks perfect before doing a larger run of books that will be available for people to purchase. We will be selling them for $20 a piece + shipping. All profits will be going to ISOP. We should be getting a website up and running soon so that we can take orders and I will let you all know about that. I hope that we can make this a great fundraiser. My goal would be to sell 2,000 in the first yea - allowing us as a group to raise about 25,000 - 30,000 for ISOP! I know they would make a great addition to libraries, doctor's offices, friends and families book collections! I know that I am going to see if the small local bookstores will be willing to sell them as well. Realistically I think it will still be until the end of October before the books are ready to go out to people due to the 6 week processing time of each book run, but they will absolutely be ready for the holiday this year!
