Guest guest
What form is the Bifido Breve? I found the bacterium being discussed as an intestinal flora-changer but I didn't find any pills. It looks interesting because it seems to shift mucus which holds the previous flora in place and thus opens the way for them to change. This idea seems related to the idea of a biofilm that others talk about. I don't know if it is. Could you tell us some more -- who suggested it and why? Guest guest
Katy seems well in herself, but the past 3 days she has had yellowy diarhoea after eating. Her tummy seems slightly bloated and the only other thing that's different is she is taking ages to eat her meals. She usually wolfs food down quickly and now is taking almost 30 minutes to eat a meal. Her bowels have been regular until last Sunday. I have started her on some Bifido Breve a couple of weeks ago, don't know if this has anything to do with it. Wondering if I should clear her out or am I going to make things worse if she is not bunged up ? Any advise appreciated. Sharon .
Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I couldn''t be sure on sypmtoms but in our experience ...Eddie is slower at eating his meals and (in the past) less reluctant to drink when he is backed up. Oftne his belly doesn't seem that bloated - but we notice that while he poos everyday - it is less. We find oxypowder gentle and effective and the quicker we use it the less we need. Guest guest
Sandy and Sally, Thanks for responding, I've not tried oxypowder as she hasn't done very well with magnesium in the past, we have been using picolax when needed. I haven't given her any for about 5 weeks as she has been going regularly and good amounts. I wonder if she has gradually become backed up. I gave her a picolax last night and she has been to the toilet several times but is just passing light orangey brown water with light ? mucousy bits in. She seems happy enough and has eaten her breakfast. Sally, I started her Bifido breve after reading the information Glynis had posted on D.lactate. Katy has not tolerated much in the way of probiotics, she's become quite poorly with them. I wondered if this may be a reason , so I planned to try the breve and then lactobacillus Caseii. She had seemed fine up until the last couple of days and has had none of the symptoms we have seen in the past with probiotics. I bought the single strain probiotics from Metabollics. I'll see how she does over the day, and probably get her checked over with the GP if she doesn't start passing some proper poo. Guest guest
Sorry to come back to this again, but I could do with a bit of advise. I gave Katy a laxative on Thurs thinking she may have overflow, turns out she wasn't backed up but was having diarhoea. I left the bifido off the weekend and her stools came back good. I gave a tiny amount on Sunday night and she now has diarhoea again. Do you think this is die off or intolerence ? She is also doing some throat clearing which may be reflux. I haven't tried it with charcoal yet. I'm not sure what to do for the best. I have been trying for years to get probiotics into her and up to now she has only tolerated bifido infantalis, so I thought I would go very gently with small amounts of single strains. Thanks for any comments. Sharon x > > > > > > > > > Katy seems well in herself, but the past 3 days she has had yellowy > > > diarhoea after eating.
