That was a great week! Great variety, too!On Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 1:32 PM, Pink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...> wrote:

This morning's workouts were a big mix, and I got two hours in today. I started with Urban Rebounding, First Timers workout, and finally made it through the 15 minutes!  I had a bible thumper to thank - midway through there was a knock at my door and there was an older man in his later 60's I'd say with a bible.  Here I am in my shorts and sports bra, sweating.  He wouldn't  look me in the face and asked me how I was doing.  I replied, " I'm working out, and I'm a non-believer - sorry! "

Annoying, but it was a needed break - rebounding like this just really fries the calves!  I am very proud of myself for finally finishing this on the third try, and will do this workout a few more times before moving on to the longer seniors (!) workout.  This one was just 15 minutes long.  Not hard at all for me cardio wise, but man it just really works the legs in ways that I am *not* used to!

Next I did more cardio with Franny Benedetto's All-Out Hi/Low workout from CIA, just doing the fast paced warmup twice.  The bpm in this are somewhat high, and the choreography was a tad tricky at first but I was a pro the second time through.  This comprised another 15 minutes.

Next was my " real " workout - I wrapped my wrists, put on my boxing gloves, and did Silk Manning's Aero Kick on my standing bag.  LOVE THIS ONE!  This workout adapts itself so perfectly to the bag, I only had to change like two tiny things and it all flowed impeccably.  Not to mention, I totally lust after Silk Manning - he has a bodybuilder physique but he is also a martial artist, fast and with incredible flexiblity, his kicks are so high I could watch him for hours.  I also have a thing for bald men, I confess..

I wanted to get some strength in too so I got out dvd that came with my Reebok stability ball and did one full circuit from the first workout.  I really liked it and look forward to doing both circuits next time and also the second workout that is included on this dvd.  There were 15 reps of almost everything:

Wall Squats with the ball  Reverse lunges wtih a side sweep w/ the ballLying prone on the ball, a shoulder comboWith the ball on the stand, pushups w/hands on the ballTricep dips with ball on the stand

Bridge lifts, upper body on ball lying supineLying prone w/hips lifted off ground, hamstring curls with the ball, moving ball in and out (ow!)Crunches (too easy imo compared to other exercises in this circuit)

Lastly, I did Yoga Complete for Every Body:  Practice for the Spine.  My lower back has been a little tense and this yoga practice really fit the bill.  Afterward I got out the foam roller to smash out the knots in my shins and lower back, which also helped.  I could still use more yoga and might do some more tonight.

Anyway, here's my week.  I'm happy with it, and outside of a couple bottles of wine am happy with my eating/intake this week.
