Can you get a referral to orthopede?they know more or sports orth?I have an issue that my patella (knee cap) doesn't stay in the groove (sometimes called floating knee cap). It makes all sorts of noises but only hurts if it floats in the way of something. I use a knee band and it is fineBUT _ you really should see an orthopedic specialist. This is quite interesting summary of studies of runners that found they do not develop knee injuries (unless they previously had knee issues). Also getting strong quads, hamstrings, core, and hip stabilizers help prevent knee issues. I miss running. need to get stronger before I start though!judyhttp://well. blogs.nytimes. com/2009/ 08/11/phys- ed-can-running- actually- help-your- knees/
