Guest guest
Hey everyone--- Sorry for the blek subject heading.....but I was wondering if it is common for lil ones in a cast to throw up more than normal....For example. Since Logan has been in a cast...if he gets the tiny bit upset (crying) he will throw up. I didnt know if it was because potential pressure on the bottom of the belly or something?? I just didnt know...or if we just have a throw up kid =/ But now it has gotten to when every he wakes up we go flying in before he has a chance really to even begin to cry....just to avoid a throw up clean up. And quite frankly...I HATE the smell of milk throw up. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.... Thanks so much Logan's mama (13 months old, 3rd cast, 45 down to 0)
Guest guest
Noelle did that! Not anymore, but when she was that age she would cry to the point of throwing up a lot. And we did the same.... Rush in before she cried too hard in hopes of calming her before she puked. In my case, it was that way even before the cast and her reflux may have played a part in that. And I agree that milk vomit is the worst! - Noelle's mommy, 3 1/2 years oldRochester NYCasted 8 times for 1 1/2 years9 months in braceRegressed and currently in cast 9reflux, mild plagiocephaly, mild torticollos, hypotonia, ligament laxity, suspected Ehler's Danlos III From: Medlin <amanda.medlin@...>Subject: vomiting questioninfantile scoliosis treatment Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 1:30 PM Hey everyone--- Sorry for the blek subject heading..... but I was wondering if it is common for lil ones in a cast to throw up more than normal....For example. Guest guest
, we had the same issue with Nora. We already new that she had acid reflux before we began casting and she was on 15mgs of Prevacid. When we began casting we had to up her to 30mgs(adult dose) to keep it from happening as often. Her pediatrician said that if we couldn't get rid of the pressure(cast) that we'd have to get rid of the acid. Dr.P said that he's amazed that she handles that high of a dose but we have to do what we have to do I guess. Crying always triggered it also. Hope I've helped.
