Guest guest
Hey, everyone! I know I haven't been active on here in a while, but I just wanted to give you guys an update on my best friend's son. I will give a little of the history too, for those of you that are new or don't remember the story. My son was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis when he was 7 months old, he was casted in Chicago at 13 months old, he had a total of 3 casts and has now had a perfectly straight spine for 2 years. A few months ago we found out that my best friend from college's son was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis. His curve was caught early, he is only a little over a year old, and the curve is at 24 degrees. They watched and waited for a few months, but the Dr. in South Carolina just recently decided he thought her son needed to be casted. So, he is now in his first cast. He is doing well in his first cast and the doctor told them he thinks he will need to be casted for 18 months, but I know she is hoping it will be less than that. Anyways, I just thought I'd fill you guys in since the last time I posted about it, they were still in the watch and wait mode. I'm so glad we were able to steer her to the right doctors and that her son's scoliosis will likely be cured just as our son's was.
