Guest guest
You have to clarify/qualify that. That's IF you eat the bananas and NEVER exercise then the calories typically go on (and I know theres alot of exceptions on here ...so I say that just in case there's someone with a near normal metabolism reading this). But maybe that extra K gives some energy so go burn of some calories. Exercise is good for all of us anyway. And I know I can't do the V8 and can't be the only one....it's the consistency of it for me,for some reason, and not really the taste. Oh well. I did give it the college try though But us monkeys like bananas anyway and I have proof..... because, ....speaking of college.....I found an old picture of Dr G when he was in medical school: SEE.......He always practices what he preaches. JUST HAVING SOME FUN From: <jclark24p@...>Subject: Nutrition - Banana vs Low Sodium V8hyperaldosteronism Date: Monday, June 25, 2012, 9:26 PM If you eat 2 bananas you will get approximately the same amount of K as 8oz of Low K V8 (~8oo). You will also get about 170 extra calories so then your doc can blame your weight! (Isn't Dr. Grim intellegent with his DASH/V8 recommendation!) BTW you would need 2/3 of a cup of prunes and that would be about 225 extra calories! Pass the Low K V8, Please!
Guest guest
Low Sodium V8 only has 820 MG of potassium > > > > > > From: jclark24p@ > > Subject: Nutrition - Banana vs Low Sodium V8 > > hyperaldosteronism > > Date: Monday, June 25, 2012, 9:26 PM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > If you eat 2 bananas you will get approximately the same amount of K > as 8oz of Low K V8 (~8oo). Guest guest
I can not stand V8 so I looked for other alternatives. Coconut Water (not coconut milk) 0 fat 45 calories 45 mg sodium 510 mg Potassium 18mg magnesium 10 total carbs this is in 8 ounces. I can handle this so much better. The taste is not the best, but I just put a small splash of grape juice in it and I can drink it 2 times a day. Not as high potassium as the V8 but I can at least handle it. > > > > > > From: jclark24p@ > > Subject: Nutrition - Banana vs Low Sodium V8 > > hyperaldosteronism > > Date: Monday, June 25, 2012, 9:26 PM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > If you eat 2 bananas you will get approximately the same amount of K > as 8oz of Low K V8 (~8oo).
