Makes most bipolar folk's feel worse, can increase mania, etc. People who suffer from bipolar and families who live with someone with bipolar know how real, unmistakeable, devastating, heart breaking it is. I have recently read that NIMH is doing research with the drug Ketamine for severe/non responsive depression and possibly bipolar. It would be wonderful to have something without horrific long term side effects for them to use for medications. Dr. Zarate, I believe. I have asked my Endo re adding magnesium, waiting for a response. My biggest problem is that my K is so unstable. BP has been good since starting Spiro. - while I agree with a lot of what you posted, I have to take exception re those with bipolar disorder. I'm a psychiatric social worker and have many patients with Bipolar Disorder on my caseload - it is a truly devastating disease the has a huge impact on the sufferer's relationships, work, etc. If we could find something that truly stabilizes mood without the negative side effects for the bipolar spectrum, it would really be a blessing.
