DASHing and Weight Loss

Okay so I have been DASHing since my last 24 hour urine which has been a week now. This diet is the exact opposite of what my norm was so I have noticed that I have already lost five pounds. Is that okay? Don't get me wrong, I have some extra pounds to lose but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. At some point I assume the weight loss will taper? Thoughts? Suggestions? Questions? Answers? Danke Shon.
