Guest guest
· 140 reduced to 127 looks good…but· 90 or 85 both are no good…should go down to 70-75…is your CHOL, LDL high? Are you overweight? Why diastolic too high? · Have you tried 300 mg Inspra at once with breakfast? Max, PA ptient After 3 weeks of increasing Inspra 50% from 100 mg AM and 100 mg PM to 150 mg AM and 150 mg PM my blood pressure has decreased from 140/90 to 127/85. It is a decrease of 9% on the systolic and 5 1/2% on the diastolic? Is this significant?
Guest guest
Hi Max, 120/80 would be normal blood pressure. Yes I am overweight: BMI 31. I also have metabolic syndrome which makes it difficult to lose weight. I am starting Victoza to facilitate weight loss. Cholesterol and LDL are high so I am taking Lipitor 10 mg.HDL is low.I'd never take 300 mg of Inspra at once. Inspra is a weak short acting potassium sparing diuretic, and it would be even better if I could divide the 300 mg into a 100 mg dose every 8 hours. Inspra is one drug that could really use a time released version. >> . 140 reduced to 127 looks good.but> > . 90 or 85 both are no good.should go down to 70-75.is your CHOL,> LDL high? Guest guest
No data that I know of that 70-75 is healthier. If you are using automatic device I do not trust diastolic pressure until device validated as accurate on you.CE Grim MDOn Jun 20, 2012, at 10:37 PM, Study Circle wrote: · 140 reduced to 127 looks good…but· 90 or 85 both are no good…should go down to 70-75…is your CHOL, LDL high? Guest guest
Or you could DASH to the max to decrease need for MCB. DASH will get weight to goal if you follow it.I would not use any drug to help lose weight. Eat fewer calories and it will go down.CE Grim MDOn Jun 21, 2012, at 1:20 AM, airlinerg wrote: Hi Max, 120/80 would be normal blood pressure. Yes I am overweight: BMI 31. Guest guest
If you believe in the "J-Curve" concept, and some doctors don't, here is the results from their study. I shoot for between 70 and 90 (stated goal 85 or less) and am currently looking to bring it up a little since 2-week average is 68.3. Guest guest
I would look really hard for the data that lowering BP by meds to 70 makes you healthier than not. And be sure you fit into the folks that were in the study that showed it.If a CT shows any evidence of CA in any blood vessel they you have atherosclerosis which is also likely to be in coronaries. Which is where the J curve is most bothersome some say.CE Grim MDOn Jun 22, 2012, at 8:53 AM, wrote: If you believe in the "J-Curve" concept, and some doctors don't, here is the results from their study.
