Guest guest
B6 and magnesium should reduce glutamate levels. Magnesium might be used up rapidly as oxidative stress increases, something pretty normal in our kids:-)) I believe the stress might arise from thyroid deficiency and then the adrenals work overtime to compensate. Constipation is related to hypothyroidism, lots of studies to show slower colonic transit time in this ondition. Have you checked that with thyroid testing (not that they always tell the truth). Best is to take basal underarm temp in before getting out of bed. belindanunn21 schrieb: > > > Hello everyone a while ago someone posted a list of types of minerals > that can increase glutamate levels I can't find it please could that > kind person pop it on the forum again. Guest guest
Hi Belinda Magnesium should be calming but it's possible the mag citrate isn't agreeing though. Do you use epsom salt baths? We found these very calming for Eddie (although beware, I know for some kids this can make things worse!). There's a few sups that are meant to help control glutamate levels: GABA, pycnogenol and theonine may be worth considering. Do start slow and low though... even in spite of the hurry! I know there's a lot of constipation expertise on this group if that turns out to be the real problem. Oxypowder is our favourite tool for that! Best wishes Tim > > Hello everyone a while ago someone posted a list of types of minerals that can increase glutamate levels I can't find it please could that kind person pop it on the forum again. I have had a week now of no sleep and am about to take to A and E to see if he has an impaction so I can rule that out. BUT he has high glutamate levels and have removed the zinc for three days but that has made no difference and am now wondering if mag citrate could be the culprit? I started that to help with constipation and have been increasing the dose over the last few months. Hasn't helped the constipation so guess that could come out too. > Tim kindly sent me a link to Yasko's website but I can't open the file about glutamate(technophobe) Freaking out here as have big trip to USA in 2 weeks waited for two years to Son-rise Program and a holiday and dont know how we will be able to manage it in this state. > Sorry for the rant !! > Basically can Mag citrate increase excitory behaviour? > XXX Belinda >
