Guest guest
Hi, everyone. Well, it has been a little over 3 months since Damian had his growing rod surgery. He is doing great. He has his first check-up at the end of this month. He only complains of pain when he has been very active. He does not, however complain of any pain in his back or around his spine. The pain is in his shoulder. Over the past month, Damian's right shoulder blade (that's what we think it is, hopefully nothing more than that) in the back has pushed itself out at an unusual angle. I have posted some pictures to show the bone. Like I said we are not too sure if this is normal or if this is indeed a part of his shoulder. I will bring it up to the doctor, when we see him in about a week. Damian's mom
Guest guest
I'm so glad to hear Damian is doing great! I looked at the photos- yeah, I would be concerned and want to check that out. His spine does look so much better than before! If you want to, you may be able to email the hospital the pictures to get an earlier look from the doctor. Just a thought, but your appointment is coming up soon. Guest guest
Hi , I just looked at the Damians pics and it looks like the rod has either migrated, or has become detached at the top? But, Im no doc. Its def. the rod....I think an immediate film is warranted at this point. Have them take a lateral view, as well. Im glad that he isnt complaining of pain. Please let us know what you have found out and try not to worry too much. HRH > I'm so glad to hear Damian is doing great!
