Rheumatoid Arthritis

Subject: Nodule

Good Morning;

Thank you to everyone who responded to my inquiry. The nodes, I am not

sure what to call them; are embedded in the muscle and are painful if I

rub them. The one I have on my labia is not painful, hasn't changed in

size but is bothering me mentally to a degree that I will have a Dr.

look at it.

BTW, I also have a large lipoma on my leg just below my knee; that is

what the Rheum. diagnosed it as anyway; does anyone know if these are

common in RA. I also have Sjogren's which is so unpredictable. I know

it is frustrating to the Rheum. as often she doesn't know which disease

is causing what; therefore the only med I take for pain is Celebrex

which is doing nothing. I have a referral for a second opinion; as I am

becoming more and more incapacitated. It doesn't help that I have had a

bad cold for over a month. Sorry for the long whine

Carol

> Just wondered if any of you had any experiences with rheumatoid

nodules, particularly on your feet? A small lump appeared under my

right metatarsal pad about 2 weeks ago, right behind my little toe.

It doesn't hurt much to touch it, but when walking barefoot, it lets

me know it is there. >

Mark, I would think you could tell yourself if it is the end of a bone or if

it is a nodule.

I've never had anything called a rheumatoid nodule, I don't have RA: but my

aunts and uncles have shown me their rheumatoid nodules. They are

fluidy-mushy, and move around. The end of a bone would be firmer.

I say I've never had these, but I have had both bones spurs, which went a

way over time, and poofed out tendons, which felt to me very much like the

rheumatoid nodules. My doc called mine ganglion cysts, although mine were

more inflamed than others I have seen with ganglion cysts who didn't have

inflammatory arthritis. I have also had calcium deposits on tendons: those

are hard little knots that you can move around. They also went away with

time.
