I don't have experience with Candesartan, but I do have experience with another

" sartan " - Diovan - which actually *raised* by BP before I had my tumor removed.

Benicar has a side effect of decreasing vitamin d levels. I am very

prone to hypercalcemia. If I go out in the sun for just a few

minutes it effects me.

So benicar helps keep my vitamin d low. Without Benicar my Calcium

will be 14-15 and my phosphorus will be 4.

I dont know what the mechanism is , but it works well keeping my

vitamin d and calcium down. All I know is that when I don't take it

I get extreme pain in my joints and bones which means my calcium is

up. My primary care doctor put me on it.

There is a Lyme disease treatment that suppresses Vitamin D, uses Benicar and has the person stay out of all light. Even all windows are supposed to be darkened.
