Hi Caroline,This looks like an excellent recipe, we are not SCD but I'd like to try it. I's just like to confirm that when you refer to " cup " this the same as as 250ml measure. Also where does one get almond butter from? Also like the high calory bit, cos my little one is skinny too.

Hiya

We have been SCD with Becks for almost 2 years and its really helped with her gut problems. At first she disnt tolerate nuts 9translate was swinging from the rafters when we tried them....). A few months ago a friend passed on this bread recipe (thanks Shaz) and as it uses nut butter and not flour has been OK with it. Its really yummy so wanted to pass it onto you. i will email Mandi or Margaret the picture of it to go in the Files and it really does look like this. I sometimes use Cashew Nut butter which is nice too. I recently bought this great wee gadget form Pampered Chef its a microwave rice steamer but its great for veg and soups too. I do the butternut squash in that now and then freeze it in 80g amounts so its easy to make it each time. Its quite high in calories so pretty good for many of our wee skinny minnies!!

Enjoy.

Hiya Efe

I use a kids cup as I have no idea what its supposed to be and it works. I would

say its about 60ml so I guess it is 1/4 of a 250ml cup. The make of Almond or

Cashew butter I get is Meridian, there are a few in the shop I go to (its part

of a Camphill Community). I think you can get it form Goodness Direct online or

try your Health food shops. It is expensive to make this as 400g almond butter

is 2.5 jars and its pricey. Its just so nice that can have something

baked.

Good Luck.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that this recipe was actually made by a friend of mine here in Norway who's on the SCD herself. She's an adolescent with Asperger syndrome. I asked her and a "cup" in her recipe is equal to 2.5 dl, just like you thought Efe. She makes the almond butter herself, I can ask her for the recipe if you like?

Yours,

such a life saver for us!

Where in Norway are you? My hubby is from Oslo, but family now in Tananger, mum

Hi Caroline (and Efe, and everyone else),

I'm in Oslo and my friend is in Stavanger. :-)

Here is her recipe for almond butter (in English, with pictures!) - she says it's easy to make but time consuming:

http://www.plener.no/SCDpizza.htm#Almond_butter:

She has enormous amounts of recipes, for those who read Norwegian you can see lots at http://www.plener.no/kokebok.htm and great GFCF dinner recipes at http://www.plener.no/middag.htm. Yum!

And she's just started her own SCD page in English at http://www.scdandme.com.

HTH!
