Guest guest
It is the end to a long day!! Quinn received her first cast today. Everything went very well. The staff at the hospital was incredibly nice & the doctor was fabulous. He was able to get Quinn down from 58* to 10* in her cast! He told us that he was very pleased, and naturally, we are too!!! Quinn was amazing, as everyone here suggested she would be. She was having little outbursts of crying, but we were told that it was most likely due to the anesthesia. Overall she was very sleepy, and seemed a little bit mad about having the cast on. I put her to bed an hour and a half ago, and do not expect her to sleep through the night, but I could really use the sleep myself!! The most difficult part of it all so far is that she can not move on her own. She is not able to sit up by herself without falling over. She is extremely top heavy, so she falls back easily & can hit her head pretty hard on the ground from the impact. She was able to roll over from back to tummy, and begin to crawl a little. It seems impossible for her to get herself into a seated position by herself. All of these situations result with her in tears. Does anyone have any advice for us at this point? I feel like she either has to be strapped into a chair/stroller, or that I have to be next to her every moment or else she is going to get hurt. I did purchase a bean bag, but she cries when she is propped up next to it. Please offer any advice to help us get through this next stage!! Thank you!! Aimee Mom to Quinn, 11 months. Down from 58* to 10* in her first cast.
