I agree. It would seem your head would seem to be so overloaded with dopamine and norepi "reuptake" that it would seem like such overkill to be on all those meds. Wild how they just add on and add on.

yes i had AVS before surgery. I have normal BP but still on metoprolol. I take a lot of meds. repaglinide, metformin, omeprazole, palafer, quetiapine, abilify, cipralex, gabapentin, clonazepam, wellbutrin, zopiclone, crestor. My psychiatrist has moved away so I am temporarily without a pyschiatrist. I will talk to my GP about psych issues, etc.

quetiapine bipolar schizo

abilify antipsychotic medicine used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

cipralex depression

Gabapentin some types of seizures

clonazepam seizures and panic disorder.

wellbutrin major depressive disorder

zopiclone non-benzodiazepine hypnotic which increases the normal transmission of the signal substance GABA

metoprolol blood pressure?

repaglinide diabetes

metformin diabetes

omeprazole gerd

palafer anemia

Crestor

More then likely some of the meds are for side effects of other meds you are on.

Have been told that Electric Shock Treatment is still the best treatment for

depression.

Yes I have asked why. Thanks for taking the time to list them and description.

I am well aware of what they are each used for. The reasons for me being on them

aren't exactly as what you have shown.

It would seem like my head is overloaded....I know my psychiatrist said I'm

maxed out on pills and can't give me 'more'. I am fortunately seeing a personal

counselor and also with my husband a couple's counselor. Seems to make more

sense to me than just taking pills.

Interesting...sure I will look at your research but I did have surgery on my

left adrenal gland already... don't want to think about the other adrenal gland

possibly causing probs

Recently I overdosed on my meds on purpose. They took me off all meds for over

a day. Seems to me my body handled that okay. It's just ironic to me that my

normal dosages are just like overdosing. I was in the hospital for about 4 days.

I'm doing ok now.

Over the years my mother had many Electric Shock Treatments. Before they had

meds that was the only treament they had. She still had them in the 1990s.

I wouldn't get overly concerned about it, we can't undo what has already been

done but there may be ways to fix it if indeed there is an issue. Excess

cortisol can be triggered by more than just an adrenal adenoma so if it is

suspected there should be testing. I also understand there are new meds coming

into play but I haven't got that far yet.

My best friend's father is now regularly on this treatment in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is 87 and it's the only thing that helps him with severe depression. Ironically enough he is the healthiest man in his 87 in Pittsburgh - no cancer, no diabetes, no high BP, no high cholesterol, no surgery ever, no other medications for anything. From time to time for last 10 - 15 years, he refuses to have Electric Shocks and every time in about 3 - 4 months after he tries to commit suicide. Why did you purposely OD? If you go off any meds, work with someone to do it correctly. Some meds must be tapered.
