That's great! My understanding is that congenital always has bone abnormalities, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't that be visible on the X-ray? Idiopathic just mean no known cause...not that there's not a cause, they just may not know what it is. On the home page of www.infantilescoliosis.org on the left side in blue, the top link you can click on should open a what to expect on the first day of casting, with a bunch of parent tips...hope that helps and let us know what questions it doesn't cover! DR. K NURSE CALLED FROM CHILDRENS HOSPITAL IN B'HAM ALABAMA. THEY HAVE MOVED HER CAST DAY UP ONE DAY TO THURS. APRIL 22ND. AT 7:00 A.M. THAT IS ONE DAY AFTER HER 1ST B'DAY!!!! WE WILL HEAD UP WED. IT IS ABOUT A 4 1/2 HOUR DRIVE. LUCKILY WE HAVE FRIENDS & FAMILY ALL IN THE B'HAM AREA. STARTING TO GET MORE & MORE STRESSED ABOUT IT. THEY HAVE NOT DONE AN MRI YET! DR. K NURSE SAID THAT THEY WOULD SCHEDULE THAT AROUND HER 2ND CASTING...AROUND JUNE 9TH OR 10TH. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IT IS IDIOPATHIC OR CONGENITAL? ALSO, SIERRA HAS TERRIBLE SEASONAL ALLERGIES & ALSO TEETHING...SO HER EYES AND NOSE ARE ALWAYS RUNNING...BUT NO FEVER. WILL THIS AFFECT HER BEING PUT UNDER???? I WILL PUT A CALL INTO THE NURSE. IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL WE NEED FOR AFTER THE CASTING AND ON THE WAY BACK HOME? THANKS TO EVERYONE!
