Guest guest
Aubrey goes in for her two month check up with her brace on the 17th of this month. However, her strap on the front of her brace just does not want to shut and stay closed to hold the strap. and it seems like when i take it over to give her a bath its always fitting different and she screams for hours even though shes had it on most of the day with a few breaks here and there. My husband and i have both decided maybe its time to take it to the next step and ask our doctor for casting. I'm just worried our doctor will ask that we keep trying with the brace and i suppose i will just have to put my foot down and say no we want the cast. although i really hate putting her through all that...i would rather her be mad for a couple days then not have her at all! Our family does not think we are making the right decision either, but i know that after reading everything on here *when i get a chance to* that casting really is not all that bad! So i will keep you guys updated when we go to the appointment and see what we figure out! I just think it is time and the brace isnt really working! Guest guest
Chelsea, that sounds like a great idea, your child is still young enough to benefit from casting. If you are going to do it, you should do it now. Why is your Dr against it?? Guest guest
Our doctor is not against it, im just worried that since aubreys only been in the brace for 2 months that hes going to ask that we keep the brace longer to see if it helps. but i truly belive its just holding it and not really improveing the curve. -Chelsea > > Chelsea, that sounds like a great idea, your child is still young enough to benefit from casting. Guest guest
Maybe if you tell him that you would rather do it sooner than later b/c time is of the essence with Early Treatment. I hope he listens.
