Mitochondrial density (hyperplasia) is increased by aerobic work. The following

citations should be of help. Note: resistance training decreases mitochondrial

density

Subject: Mitochondrial hyperplasia

Hi, I have a question regarding mitochondrial hyperplasia. I have been

researching information vigorously attempting to find ways to train in order to

promote local hyperplasia of mitochondria. I have read a lot on elitefts from

Mark Mcglaughlin, the Thinker, Landon . Ive also searched charlie francis'

work and Dr. Verkhoshansky for specific guidelines. They all seem to give a

little bit of a run-around as far as directing me somewhere else. I am in

medical school right now and really do not have the time to fully research as I

normally would. Can someone help me out with direct guidelines for promoting

mitochondrial hyperplasia in local tissues, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!!

EZ. Aerobic exercise increases both the size and # Of mitochondria.
