Guest guest
I apologize for cutting the post off, the doctors came in to finish trimming the cast. She hates it..she screams " don't hurt me " . But we are home now and the cast got her curve down to 24 degrees! That was great news, her x-rays look so good! She says.. " abby's heavy " and is having a hard time getting up and down things but I think all in all she's doing pretty great and we made a good decision. We met so many people who traveled so much further than we did and were enduring so much more it really put things in perspective for us.. Ami -Abigail 1st cast at Shriner's Philly > > Abigail is in her first cast! She's doing pretty well and we should be able to go home in a couple hours. We still need to get some trimming done as it's rubbing on her armpits and hips. She freaked coming out of anesthesia and the nurses called to come down ASAP..her heart was up to 175-179, luckily she calmed down after 30 minutes. > We saw the x-rays after and cast and they look great! We had the most awesome attentive nurse and the staff gave her lots of toys, blankets and even a pillow case, to go with her pink cast > Now working on getting the moleskin ..gotta go. >
Guest guest
I'm so glad you guys got some good correction. It will take her a while to get up and down with the cast on. Within no time she will be back to running around like her old self! Congratulations on making it through the first casting. They get easier from here on out!
