Guest guest
Hello, I am looking for scientific information about the use and results of the IFAS machine (High Frequency treatment) , which has been designed by Nicola Tesla. Especially in sports injury treatment and scientific information. Can anybody from Australia help out kind regards thorsten Burkard London From: efreem3407@... <efreem3407@...> Subject: Re: Re: Weight/Strength Training after Knee Replacement Supertraining Date: Tuesday, 27 September, 2011, 20:35 Then why even have a knee or hip replacement if the prosthesis limits life function? Is it pain? Most people get them to get rid of pain? Or is it reconstructive; such as after an accident? ==========================
Guest guest
I've never heard of IFAS, and I'm not familiar with machine designed by Tesla for treatment. However, I imagine you are referring to electrical stimulation induced by variable magnetic fields. If that's the case, the XVIII Congress of the International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology (ISEK, 2010) mentioned it. ISEK, whic took place in Aalborg, Denmark 16-19 June, 2010, has an editorial that mentions magnetic stimulation (available on-line for free at the link below). Maffiuletti, Nicola A, Marco A Minetto, Dario Farina, and o Bottinelli. 2011. “Electrical stimulation for neuromuscular testing and training: state-of-the art and unresolved issues.<http://www.springerlink.com/content/w70328p03411h575/fulltext.pdf> ”* European Journal of Applied Physiology* 111 (10) (October): 2391-2397. I quote the relevant statement from the editorial: " the maximal power output of modern magnetic stimulators does not seem appropriate enough for subjects with excess subcutaneous adipose tissue. " The bibliography reported by the same editorial is: Bustamante V, de Santa E, Gorostiza A, Jimenez U, Galdiz JB (2010) Muscle training with repetitive magnetic stimulation of the quadriceps in severe COPD patients. Respir Med 104:237–245 Millet GY, V, A, Verge`s S (2011) Electrical stimulation for testing neuromuscular function: from sport to pathology. Eur J Appl Physiol.
