No words can explain how greatful I am to you and this group. Everyone here had a hand in educating me on infantile scoliosis and urged me NOT TO WAIT! As I said before, I know I dont respond much in posts, but my days and my girls are so busy, its very difficult to get anything done! But please know, that I do read keep up on posts and you guys are always in my thoughts. This group is who helped me get thru the beginning when it was all such a whirlwind, answered all of my questions, and educated me, and of course, if not for you, where would we be?! So for that, I will always be greatful!!

We are going to try to make "Marly Party" and annual event b/c it was such a huge success. So many people came out, we got loads of donations, and we need to continue awareness. I attached the flyer we made for the benefit and some pics from it too.

Talk to everyone soon!

Hi and Melinda,

I am ready to move those mountains with you, Melinda!! My son has been a

patient in Philly since 2004 and I've done some work (fundraising, speaking

engagements, etc.) for that particular hospital and for Shriners in general. I

am in NY - but regardless of where you are, I would LOVE to brainstorm with you.

Thanks for thinking of me. We all make a great team and hopefully will

continue to help many, many families find the best care for their children.

Please feel free to e-mail me at mariaf305@....

I'm sure Shriners would love to do a write-up on this event. There's a

quarterly newsletter published by the Philly hospital called Connections - I

know the person who puts the stories together and would be happy to intervene to

get this published.

I'm sure Shriners would love to do a write-up on this event. There's a

quarterly newsletter published by the Philly hospital called Connections - I

know the person who puts the stories together and would be happy to intervene to

get this published.

,

Sounds great! I hope I can help you help Shriners.

I actually spoke with S, PR at Shriners, Philly. She wanted to interview me when we go down next wk. Marlycia is going back next Tues 6/22 for an x-ray/check up to see how her back is holding on the brace. I am bringing the check with me and they want to take a pic. Rita called me too and asked if we could come down this Thurs 6/17 and meet with the board members, do a formal check presentation, etc. We're not able to make it. My husband cant get work off and we cant change our appt from 6/22 to 6/17 so I told her we are so greatful for the gesture. She invited us next mnth or in Aug.

But are these the ladies you were thinking of?

Hi Melinda,

Yes, , Rita and Terry are the wonderful ladies I was referring to.

(PR) is the one who often contacts me about events. In fact, for

anyone who can be in Manhattan EARLY on the morning of Monday, June 28th,

(around 7 a.m.) the Early Show on CBS is going to interview some Shriners on the

Plaza and they want supporters (patients, families, etc.) to join them.

If anyone is interested, please contact me at mariaf305@... and I'll

forward the flyer that sent me. I would post the flyer here as an

attachment but I don't know how!!

Terry is the Director of Development and Rita works with her. I often ask them

to meet and greet new families that I refer to the hosptial just so that folks

have a friendly face to see, especially on their first visit - and these ladies

never disappoint! I call them the Welcome Wagon.

I look forward to hearing from you, Melinda - please e-mail me anytime. I have

a feeling we may be working together in the future and I very much look forward

to it!
