Guest guest
Hello All, I am looking for help on an injury I suffered at sparring practice about a week and half ago. I was sparring in taekwondo and I threw a roundhouse kick to my opponents torso and he blocked it with his knee and it hit my knee.Well,it feel like the inside of my knee right inside of the knee, yet at the same time it feels like the thigh right about the knee cap a bit.To be honest I cant really tell.It stiffened immediately and has remained stiff all though I was able to maintain descent athletic ability just without the use of that leg. The next day,my knee was swollen pretty bad. It was like I had no knee cap at all,and that my whole upper leg was my thigh. I have problems bringing the heel of my foot to my my butt and I had problems squatting because I was in pain quite a bit.I also had problems walking up and down steps as well. Now,Ive iced it a bit, and I even took a couple days off to rest it and the swelling finally started to go down quite a bit on saturday and it has gotta better since, but when I squat, I get a pain that feels like its right on the inside of the knee cap. I also get a bit of a strain when I try to jump around a bit or put a descent amount of weight on the leg when it comes to kicking...And as ive said before, bringing the heel of my foot to my butt is painful and it seems as though ive lost quite bit of flexibility.. I kind of have to be my own doctor on this(no health insurance),and I have a major international open at the end of november.. Can anyone give me an Idea of what may be wrong with me? I know its a patella injury,im just not sure what kind?I can straighten my leg fine, just bending it hurts a bit. How long do I REALLY need to stay off of it?How do I rehab it and regain flexibility? I appreciate all responses,as I am starting to worry a bit. Thank You. .Archield Florida,USA
