I should ask your GP for metronidazole, it's v effective and simple to

administer. My daughter had threadworms (how i know I will not tell you

but large pus-filled spots on her bum were a clue) and metronidazole got

rid of them completely in two doses. It's very cheap because it's a

generic. She always put everything in her mouth and threadworms are

really common apparently in the environment so it would be almost

inevitable that she would pick them up, I think lots of children do.

There is a therapy for autism based on giving the child helminths (a

form of parasite) on the grounds that this stimulates the immune system

and makes them better. I can't say that my daughter appeared to

deteriorate when I got rid of the threadworms.
