Guest guest
I'm really nervous about Dr Culp now following these discussions on here, particularly as I've been looking for a change of direction for Tom, who's been standing still for ages. I was hoping he'd really help. Is anyone convinced that he is or isn't a charlatan? By the way, I've read through my notes and I think he's saying that by looking at the blood we can see he has parasites rather than he has parasites in the blood. What about the muscle testing though? Anyone know what his variety of it is called? Anyone convinced by it? I'm not. Guest guest
Sara, Got experience and views on both, FWIW. I understand the general idea, and I've tried various sorts of bioresonance, including muscle testing. A few good bits but overall the negatives outweighed those. A CST I used to see, (and would like to see again), told me that kinesiology and muscle testing generally derived craniosacral oesteopathy and craniosacral therapy, that they use the same body energies. I had good experinces with CST, but that could be becuase the therapist is very respectful of my condition. Main thing I have against bioresonance is that the therapists seem to have tunnel vision about believing the muscle response. When I've queried the validity, I don't think anyone was keen to find out why. IMHO there are various things that can interfer with it, the beliefs and views of the therapist and especially the limited knowledge of the therapist, the questions they choose to ask and the questions they don't ask, the order they ask them, the therapy options on their palette etc. Means that a whole range of options and insights are distorted or closed down. I've read some of this elsewhere too. Also think that parasites, other microbes, electrolite imbalances, metals, infact anything that interfers with bio-energy might affect responses. Look how the full moon affects parasites and behaviours. Culp I saw 3 years ago becuase I wanted the Genova Detoxigenomics test, hoping to find answers to my sensitivities. Anyway, he was reluctant to do it, said kinesiology was more complete and tailored to the individual. Sounds like he's changed his mind a bit? I wouldn't see him twice, (tho TBH I wasn't expecting to have an on-going relationship). He didn't accept any responsibility for the ill effects of a kinesiology correction he did in that session. It happened before his eyes, with me asking him to stop. I'd say he definitely noticed, he couldn't have missed it and seemed unnerved and keen to get me out. Just my experience and wouldn't say we was a charlaton. Been dying to get that one off my chest. Have to add that I'm very, very reactive. To many very simple things, and even with thoughtful, responsive practitioners who try very hard to work gently with me. Guest guest
Thanks a lot Jacqui, That makes so much sense. He already has supplements that he is dying to give the customer, either because he'll make money on them (evil) or just because he really believes in them (not evil). I'm happy to give his treatments a go for a while but not at them expense of losing a lot of effective treatments we already have in place (which has already happened) I'll probably see him once more. Any more opinions gratefully received Sara x fideaueater wrote: > > > Sara, > > Got experience and views on both, FWIW. > > I understand the general idea, and I've tried various sorts of > bioresonance, including muscle testing. Guest guest
I've never met him so I'm not saying he is insincere ie a charlatan, someone who knows what they are doing is worthless but does it for the money. What I am saying is that live blood analysis doesn't seem a sensible technique. I think it is problematic to focus on the person (do we trust them, do we not) -- we need to think do we agree with what they are doing, does it stand up to scrutiny. A person who seems very trustworthy and sincere may be quite wrong, they are just honestly mistaken. He may be very genuine but completely misguided. Boyd Haley has probably got the best of intentions but that doesn't make OSR safe etc etc Sally rachel5827 wrote: > > > I agree Sal, I believe he is genuine. > > Rache. > > In Autism Treatment > <mailto:Autism Treatment%40>, " Sally " > <sallygeorge@...> wrote: > > > > Why are you nevous Sara? Guest guest
Thanks Sal and , I'm only nervous, not actually calling him a charlatan. Basically just because he took Tom off some stuff that really agrees with him and put him on something that doesn't. That's all. (I also find his manner a bit odd but that's just a small thing). I think he is very knowledgeable. Guest guest
Hi all We've just seen Dr Culp too (and Tom is also going to Mercia at the moment but really hating it this time, think we might need to stop which is a bummer) He did say Tom had parasites in his blood and showed us a dimmy thingy fragilis. He also said he had blasto cystis hominis, both of these parasites Tom has had before and shown in stool sample. HOwever, there was no great proliferation of parasites, in fact he had to hunt around to find htem. He said Tom's immune function was very upregulated or something but that he was mounting a strong immune response with pletny of white cells which was good. Also showed us some, can't remember the word, exploded white cells which had a big starry effect on the slide. He thought Tom's blood was exceptionally dark which may or may not have been metals. He was surprised to see only a couple of yeast spores as he'd been convinced there would be loads. I was surprised as Tom is the Yeast Beast although we haven't had yeasty behaviour for about three weeks now (thanks Mandi!!) He said his folic acid was not too bad but on teh low side (from looking at the number of nuclei of blood cells does that sound right?) His fatty acids were low (frilly edges on live blood cells). Then they all went frilly as htey died and that made me less confident. But I really need to google this. He had undigested food partcicles in his blood (Mark asked if he could tell what they were. He failed to name cheese omelette LOL) There were about ten food particles just in the blob we saw. Waiting for the photos to arrive as his printer was playing up. Tom's blood cells were mostly nice and round but he had a couple of balloons and I can't remember for the life of me what htat meant. Prescribed TMG (like yours Sara!), 5HTP, a magnesium complex, P5P, and something homeopathic for anxiety, maybe aconite, would that make sense? so mostly things Tom has taken before but he muscle tested them. I got Mark to do half the muscle testing and me the other half. I don't get it at all but I know people swear by it. But he hasn't sent Tom away with anything for parasites or anything for fatty acids... He thought Tom had bacteria issues and prescribed a french probiotic which I hadn't heard of. He said there was something that would be in Tom's blood if he had lyme (can't remmber what) and it wasn't there so therefore Tom does not have lyme. (Dr K thought he did) He did some sacro cranial on Tom which he loved and Tom was incredibly calm the whole time he was there, through all the muscle testing and prodding about and head squeezing. Tom is not a calm child as anyone who has met him will testify. Tom was also like this with Dr K and given that you can't really pull the wool over Tom's eyes I do think there is something in it yes. I like Dr Culp - although I do wish he would giggle less. The standing on one leg is probably an acquired taste! We were there for well over 2 hours, he was very thorough. The supplements were not over priced and all he asked us to do in the way of testing was a ONE test which we'd probably be doing at this stage anyway. He was also shocked at Tom's thyroid test which showed very elevated T3 I think, but not sure which of what he's prescribed would address that! So - overall, it was very interesting, I need to google some stuff on blood. Some of it sounded a little bit " pat " but assuming the samples mean what he says they mean it all makes sense. ALthough it would be the same story for anyone with autism but just a different way of showing it I guess. I think in our house the jury is still out. We're giving Tom gama rizol and just basic minerals at the moment so we're not taking him off any of that just adding new stuff and we're not abandoning a good regime to try this. Also for us Tom has just been prescribed risperidone which we haven't started yet in a desperate bid to stop the head banging. so if the 5HTP and magnesium stuff calm him down, that might put off the day we need to give him risperidone. sorry, very long post! Guest guest
That's a fantastic post. Thanks, Steph. It sounds though like the live blood test was really different from our Tom's but that he prescribed similar things (is that bad?) We also got prescribed Securil (which is prebiotics too). I also don't like the constant giggling. Overall, you've set my mind at rest about him for now because I feel all the positives you mentioned too.
