I have included my latest labs that were 1 month after I stopped Spironolactone.

The first numbers taken 10/24/11 were the latest I had prior to stopping Spiro.

Comments??

Test Name 10/24/11 Units Reference 1/20/12

ALBUMIN 3.6 g/dL 3.2-5.0 ???

CARBON DIOXIDE18 Lowm mol/L 20-30 23

CHL2ORIDE 104 mmol/L 100-110 103

CREATININE 1.05 mg/dl 0.5-1.5 .76

eGFR 71 mL/min >60 103

GLUCOSE 127 High mg/dL 65-100 87

POTASSIUM 4.6 mmol/L 3.5-5.0 4.3

SODIUM 135 mmol/L1 35-145 138

URATE 8.6 mg/dl 3.3-8.7 ???

UREA NITROGEN 21 mg/dL 7-25 12

& #65279; My observations:

- It looks like Creatinine, eGFR and Urea Nitrogen (BUN) all had fairly

significant changes in the right direction. Good news for the kidneys!

- Carbon Dioxide back in range so Neper. Should be able to relax.

- Does the drop in Glucose indicate the excess Aldosterone is starting to impact

it?

- Dr. G., does the rise in sodium further your theory as to my sudden weight

gain? (Your answer, " The 15 lbs were likely salt and water. When we do

metabolic balance studies this would mean that if you were on the same Na intake

every day there would be less in the urine until your pressure rises enough to

get rid of the retained salt this is called an aldo escape. "

Is the last number the average before stopping Spiro. A graph of cr and eGFR

and glucose would be of interest.

May your pressure be low!
