Guest guest
With Nora we seen a substantial decrease in the hump and the curve! She had also gained 3 inches from the traction. However this is her 8th cast and she still has a hump just not as big. I guess as the old saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day! We are dying to know what his back looks like. Does anyone remember their first cast off---did anyone see a change? does the rib hump go away this time around? We are just wondering. I think I might die though if we see no difference at all. Im trying to prepare myself. Let me know if you guys remember... amanda Logan's mama (45 standing down to 14 in first cast---11 months old now)
Guest guest
I will say that we did not see any difference looking at his back after the first cast but the x-rays were drastic! He got great correction laying down, but standing up his numbers were still pretty high. After the 2nd cast however we noticed an incredible change in shape in his back. Don't be discouraged if you don't see a huge change right away, you will get your wow moment within a cast or 2 if you don't see anything this time. Good luck! Guest guest
I'm trying to remember, but I seem to recall the most dramatic change out of cast was not from cast 1-2, but between casts 2-4. His body shape was much more normal, so much so that from the back, he looked like a different child. Guest guest
Hi , It's likely that you will see some improvement. We did.... Noelle did look straighter to us. As far as the rib hump..... That takes a long time to correct. You may see improvement, but real alignment will take quite a while. Noelle is still not perfectly symetrical, but darn close! Good luck! - Noelle's mommy, 3 years oldRochester NYCasted 8 times for 1 1/2 years and in first brace!reflux, mild plagiocephaly, mild torticollos, hypotonia, ligament laxity, suspected Ehler's Danlos III From: Medlin <amanda.medlin@...>Subject: Getting first cast offinfantile scoliosis treatment Date: Saturday, May 15, 2010, 6:52 PM Hey everyone-- Logan will be getting his first cast off on Thursday.
