Guest guest
When one chooses to start along thee path of a strongman competitor or any other sports of strength there are many things that you must consider. The most basic of concerns we must concern ourselves with is safety. Unlike most other sports strongman and power lifting have much fewer safety precautions and yet at the same time. As a strongman competitor myself I can say that the precautions most concerning we as the competitors must provide our own protection fitting the rules and regulations of the federation we are competing in. One of the most prominent concerns we all face is caused by failed lifting form such as strained or torn muscles or as severe as broken bones. I myself tore my lower pectoral muscle during a tire flip event four years ago. As with all sports there are always going to be the cuts and bruises though these are minor. Most competitions are held in hot dry weather so another worry we must face is of course heatstroke. if you do chose this sport you must always remember to have a cold wet towel to throw over yourself upon completing each event or to drape around your neck. With most of the weight being on your shoulders breathing can sometimes be a problem most competition hosts make sure to have paramedics on standby with oxygen tanks just in case a problem occurs. I hope this helps some of you and I know I did not touch on every risk involved such as the permanent joint damage that can occur from long and short term competing.
