Got back from our appointment in Philly and I just can't seem to stop tearing

up. It seems as if no doctor has hope or confidence that our daughter has good

treatment options. The brace is out of the question b/c it won't help correct,

waiting is out b/c they are sure it will progress and casting is something the

are willing try but can't say for sure it will help because she is older than

the others at the beginning of treatment. Her curve is unusual in that it curves

the opposite way of most IS cases. They doc was very nice and competent but

just did not seem to have much enthusiasm for the casting and I had to ask him

straight out " medically speaking " what would offer the best chance for

correction?

I wanted to come out of there with a plan. Like Step 1. Casting Step 2. grow

rods Step 3. fusion Step 4. Physical therap etc.

And he put vitamins and physical therapy in the same category..I asked about the

Rigo-Cheneau brace but he wasn't familiar with it, although his P.A is

researching it (good news!)

And now my family is giving me a hard time about putting my little girl under

anestheia every 2 months and are sure that I haven't looked at ALL the options!!

To top it all off, they x-rayed our son ial b/c of his congenital heart

defects, and he has an 11.5 degree C-curve!!! WTF. Did we get a big sign on our

heads that said Yes, please, torture our children??? I'm so sorry..I'm starting

to cry again..
