Guest guest
Bex did great and was a total trooper at the hospital today. We got there at 10am and he didn't go in until about 3:30pm- with no food or water allowed after 10am. Bex doesn't drink clear juice or like water in the morning, he's a milk and Clif Z-bar guy for breakfast, so the poor kiddo was so hungry. It was unavoidable by the hosp., they had 2 casts before us and a major, complicated surgery. A full body spica cast on a 13 year old!We asked for anything and they let him have a Popsicle- he only ate about one quarter of one. Long day, but we are back at the hotel now. X-rays tom. am- they closed before he was fully back in business. I am hopeful. As always, we have nothing but praise for our team in SLC- and we had the pleasure of meeting Audrey and her parents! Guest guest
Royal Purple! Purple Reign! : ) Bex is doing awesomely, but we did not get numbers today, I think we'll have to wait until Monday. Our doc went out of town for a medical clinic all day and our P.A., Dr. D's right hand man in casting Mike P., didn't get to reading it before he had to leave today. Not sure why, they are so busy, I am sure there is a good reason. A little frustrating, but we had a blessed trip in so many ways. Superior medical care, meeting other CAST families, beautiful weather, zoo fun, comfy hotel, kindness and love from the entire hosptal staff, safe anesthesia, home safe and sound, etc. We did get to see the X-ray this morning, and to our eyes, it looked better than last time. We don't want to speculate too much. I'll attach a pic of our little Prince. Guest guest
I know, how do you explain to a 2-3 year old why Mommy and Daddy won't give him milk? That was hard. He looked defeated at one point. I have to remember in the big picture, it was one day, and he is SO lucky to be getting this treatment. Shriners luckily has a lot of toys and distractions.
