Guest guest
Hello everybody, I just found out about this group and subscribed. I am 38 years old and had Rheumatoid arthritis for 18 years now. My arthritis affects mostly my knees (I have one knee replacement) and my hands and arms. But other joints sporadically start to swell and hurt as well but only for a few days. In the past I have had excellent success with Methotrexate. It always made me feel like I am " new " again. However, this time around the MTX doesn't seem to work and I will probably be put on another medication. When I was first diagnosed I was on gold injections but had to stop those because they caused problems with my kidneys. Plaquenil didn't do much for me either. Methotrexate did the trick and I was in remission for about 10 years. Now the arthritis is back. Well, that's it basically. I try to stay active and bicycle a lot. I love gardening now that spring is finally here... and I have a Miniatuare Schnauzer puppy to keep me busy, just in case I get bored :-) Heike
