Impressive stuff !  You should feel proud.  That's great!!!Yesterday, I actually took the initiative to start painting our deck that surrounds our swimming pool.  I had my mom and a friend over here and we got a ton done.  I used a scrub brush on it because there was a ton of algae or moss??  I have no idea what it was.  Anyway, there was a lot of it.  There was no way I could have scrubbed the way I did w/out being in shape.  LOL.  Sounds funny, but it was a ton of work. I am soooo excited now.  The deck already looks loads better and it doesn't even have any paint on it.  Can't wait to see what it will look like when done.  MAYBE today.

Darcy, that just goes to show that, on top of everything else, fitness is money in the bank. People drop bucks to pay somebody else to do stuff like this.My very fit 70 year old mom has taken it upon herself to paint the interior of her home. She has scrubbed the walls, carried the paint cans from the store, and she's gone to work. She's doing great! She is going to have somebody paint the ceilings because she has recovered from rotator cuff problems and doesn't want them back.

Great work Darcy! That sounds like a really big job! It will look great when it is done. And then you get the satisfaction of admiring it ALL summer:-) It is funny how reluctant our husbands are until they see what we can do lol.

I know seriously, being more fit and then seeing it play out like that is so inspiring, just makes you want to keep at it even more. My knees used to bother me kind of a lot when I would hike around in our yard. It is on the side of a mountain so VERY steep, and since doing such a broad mixture of dvds and workouts it has definitely strengthened them to the point I can climb all over now and not be bothered at all. That makes me VERY happy:-)

My daughter works at a rec center and there are a lot of people in their seventies and some even older that come in regularly to work out. She has come home with so many stories of how they are so dedicated and have inspired her to take care of herself as she gets older.

Thank you !  Don't be too jealous.  That pool has been a money pit from day one!  UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I do love it, just not the work it entails or what it costs to run!    I like the deck more than the pool.  I 'ordered' DH to built a deck all the way around it.  It's five feet wide.  Then we also have an upper deck and lower deck too.  It is set up very nicely

Thank you !  Don't be too jealous.  That pool has been a money pit from day one!  UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I do love it, just not the work it entails or what it costs to run!    I like the deck more than the pool.  I 'ordered' DH to built a deck all the way around it.  It's five feet wide.  Then we also have an upper deck and lower deck too.  It is set up very nicely

It sounds really nice. A perfect place to spend the summer. We had a nice pool where we used to live, and really miss it. My daughters and I lived in that thing. We spent our days swimming and chasing the ice cream truck down:-) It was a lot of fun. Sorry it is such a money pit. But you are definitely saving money by doing the deck refinishing yourself.
