Guest guest
Hi, My son had a 40 degrees curve initially (diagnosed in March last year), but it's a high curve. He has been in casts since August and some of them have included neck support, with those we have had better correction (down to 10 degrees in cast). Because my son also needs to have PT (he is 21 months, walking holding one hand, but can't get up from the floor or sit down from standing) we are going to have a brace break for the summer. He is going to be molded next Friday before they put a cast on and then we will go into a brace (Yes, I'm scared, but we need to try to improve his balance/strength). We were told they are probably make a TLSO for him. I'm worried about how they can make it high enough to get correction. Has anybody seen a brace that goes so high? Can they " customize " a TLSO (I have no idea what I'm talking about here, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question)? You all know we (parents) have to be on top of things, because nobody else will be. So I'm thinking I'm going to have to give the orthotics department all those details and hopefully I can get some suggestions. Thank you!
