I am pretty sure this is Darrell and his son(can't remember his name). He is no longer on the group.

I just can't see putting my child through that, but of course we never had any problems with smelly casts either.

I would for sure talk to my child's doctor before removing a tshirt under a cast.

Let us know how it goes. I wish you luck.

TashaMommy of 5 year old twin boys- and Fort Worth, Texas is treated at Texas ish Rite Hospital in Dallas, TexasSeries of 6 casts for 14 months followed by bracing since September 2007You can read 's story at.... http://www.infantilescoliosis.org/stories.html

I found the following when I was searching for the PSA on YouTube. The "cast" looks different - I don't see any white material on the edges, but perhaps it is covered with black duct tape? But it says 'knitrite' shirt. Anyways, a picture is easier for me to understand then someone trying to 'explain it".Here is the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJKzjCxYX0M--- In infantile scoliosis treatment , NIck Guthe <nickguthe@...> wrote:>> It's supposed to rain 2 days that we're there, I hope it's sunny for us, too! Whatever they use to tape or hold stuff on her face during casting always makes red marks that last for several days - we also used baby lotion and then aquaphor all over her after her bath - I think she may have been sensitive to it also, as she had little red dots all over her belly. Have you

changed Bex's shirt while in cast? They gave us another shirt to, but after Mike tried to adjust her cast this morning and petal her - and she was throwing a total fit - he thought we may not be able to. Londynn did well - but I think she has learned that this is a place that they do stuff to her - that she doesn't necessarily like - she was much crankier this time than last. Removing the cast was

non eventful - she even laughed thru most of it. She had some purple discoloration (coloration) of her skin in the shape of the opening of the cast on her belly side. They don't normally see this apparently - Dr D took pictures for reference. It looks like a bruise but it is not because when you stretch the skin it is not purple below the surface. Has anyone else had this? Her skin was much drier than we expected - but no breakdown - we got an "A" for cast and skin care - Yeah! worrisome - but she did have to stay in recovery a little longer). We got our second "Diva" cast as we call it. One shouldered. It takes away a little bit of the linebacker look but not much. We are so excited about our numbers in this 2nd cast - she is down to 11-12 degrees from 36 - the doctors plans are for us to return in 10 weeks for our next and final cast at which time they will also mold her for a brace. She will wear the next cast for 2 months then go into the brace for a year (one brace change during that years time) We are ecstatic about this news. I never went for the Neoprene, Nick thinks it's a petroleum based product and I felt it had a fume-y smell for a young baby to be covered in. This is just my opinion when I was deciding for Bex, it works great for other parents, I'm sure. I was concered Bex would peel off pieces and eat it at that young age, under 2.
