Guest guest
Hi Kerry! Thank you very much for your kind comments! On the TransFIRMer, I know what you mean. I have a fanny lifter, a full size club step plus slanted risers and a smaller step (that I really need to list on craigslist) but I had to have the TransFIRMer too. It is so much easier to do the slanted step moves on it. I already had the 3 workouts from the TransFIRMer set and am getting the other 2 (Jiggle Free Arms and Jiggle Free Buns) SASE from VF. I have a few of the ones made for the box that came before the TF too. I haven't done many of them but want to do them all soon. I need to do Express Cardio on a really good day. I made it through Body Max's cardio without cussing once, I'm sure I can get through this too. Somehow. Snow???? Oh my goodness!!!!! It was gorgeous here in SE Michigan the last two days. Mid 70s and lots of sunshine with a very light breeze. I was outside from 9-4 Friday at my kids' school helping at their Field Day. We couldn't have asked for better weather. My husband went to Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan, way at the most northern end of our Upper Penninsula. We joke about how they have snow through May and then it starts again in September or early October. It is true but it isn't usually snowing there in June! I hope you find a warmer place! :-) Re: Stressed morning - lousy workout You had a great workout for being stressed! Great work on using 5 lbs on some of the 3lb work. It is good that you changed when you needed to, great work at modifying to suit yourself. I also like to workout first thing in the morning; I'm like you if I don't get it in right away, it gets forgotten or put aside so I can deal with other things. Like yesterday, I didn't get my workout in, I need to do it today, it is Turbo Jam Cardio Party which I love.I looked up Express Cardio on Collage Video and saw the clip, I sure like Huckabee's arms! Looks like a good workout. The more I see the Transfirmer, the more I think I "need" one. Ha, ha, DH would have a fit if I brought in another step to the house. I already have two, plus the one he built me out of wood. He just doesn't understand my obscession with exercise videos either. LOL!I would be as lost as you were on the Express Cardio, I like the cueing and adding on moves otherwise I'm totally lost.Have a great day,Here in Southeastern Alberta where we only have two months of summer it is snowing! Not Fair! I think it is time to move.KerryStressed morning - lousy workoutPosted by: "nancydewolfsbcglobal (DOT) net" nancydewolfsbcglobal (DOT) net croppingwomanDate: Wed Jun 3, 2009 8:08 am ((PDT))Ugh. DH was grumpy (but trying not to be) all morning and I try not to let it affect me but it does anyway. I got into my workout late too which always stresses me out because I want to just enjoy it and not be thinking about just "getting done." Today was total body strength + cardio so I did Shape Bikini Body Camp Transforming Workout Sculpt Plus and then wanted to do The FIRM Express Cardio. I got the sculpting workout in, barely. This is one of 3 on this disc. I did the cardio workout about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed that one so I was looking forward to this one. There's also a circuit workout which I haven't done yet. This workout was all compound, simultaneous exercises and it was not the morning for that kind of workout for me but despite that, it seemed like a good workout. I like the idea of these kinds of workouts because they're very functional but I still don't enjoy them that much, especially not the first time through. This was not complicated but I was totally messed up for lots of it anyway. They're simultaneous with combinations of movements that get added on to. You do a squat with an overhead extension for a few reps, then you add on to that with something else, for example. That's where I'd get messed up. It was led by Wheeler, Dozois showed beginner modifications and York was also doing the workout like . I thought cued very well but I just wasn't with it. The other two didn't pipe in as much as the two in the background did on the cardio workout. They work upper and lower body together most of the time, making the heart rate really go up too which I liked. The movements go a little fast I thought, but that might be because I used 5 pound weights and suggested 3-5 pounds. I did switch to 3s for some of the shoulder work. It was a total body workout but the abs seemed pretty lame to me. All the reps were very short, it is only a 30 minute workout, so if they didn't move so fast I would have gone heavier on my weights. You also use a resistance band for a few exercises, I'm not exactly sure why because they don't say why but it did feel very effective. After that I was going to do Express Cardio. It is another 30 minute workout. I didn't realize though, until it started, that this is a step workout and my first thought was, "This had better not be like Cathe!" It uses the FIRM box (I used my TransFIRMer). I did the warmup and started on the first part of the workout but it WAS like Body Max in terms of the immediate complexity of it!!! You were going over, around, some kind of straddle step, etc. all in the first few minutes!! leads it and true to FIRM style cueing (and Cathe on Body Max) there are no demonstrations, no practicing a move in isolation (which there was on the Shape workout I did first, I think that's the only thing that saved me on that one), it was all just WHAM, do this, now add this, etc. This was definitely not a day for that kind of workout and in complete frustration, I quit but will try it on a better day. I thought about throwing in a just to do something more but it was getting late and I was upset so I just said forget it, tomorrow will be a better day. I was supposed to have 2 hours this afternoon free for the first time in MONTHS and thought about maybe doing Wii Fit or a BUT just called from school to say that he is subbing for someone as a server for the Volunteer Tea for 5th grade parents and really wanted me to attend. Yesterday, when he told me he wasn't doing it (because he signed up too late) I silently prayed a prayer of thanks saying "Good. One less thing to do." One kid can't do it now so he was told he could fill in and he's so excited that I couldn't tell him I didn't want to go because I wanted some time to myself. At least a meeting I had for tonight was rescheduled to another night (in 2 weeks, after the end of the school year craziness is over) so I can relax some this evening I hope and who knows, maybe I'll get something in later.Tomorrow is cardio + floor/hip/thighs + abs) and I have The FIRM Lower Body Sculpt II + Jillian's Cardio Kickbox planned. I doubt there's much in the way of combinations in LBS II (this will be my first time doing it) and Jillian's workout is tough but it all drill so everything should go better.Off to work and then the Tea. Better grab my camera.

Guest guest
Thanks tons, !!! Re: Stressed morning - lousy workout This one is in my virgin pile, so I enjoyed this review. Thanks ! I adore all 3 of those instructors, and hope that on your next try it goes smoother. It's hard to concentrate on choreography when you have other stuff on your mind. Hugs.Shape Bikini Body Camp Transforming Workout Sculpt Plus and then wanted to do The FIRM Express Cardio. I got the sculpting workout in, barely. This is one of 3 on this disc.
