Guest guest
Hi , Volume 4 can be frustrating - even though I have (in the past) done that one many times over I still mess up on Kai's cueing if a long period of time has elapsed between sessions with it. And, yes, I do believe the shoes magically disappear and the boxes magically appear. I think during this era of the FIRM they were into "perfection" and couldn't have (gasp!) the exercisers take a break to switch up equipment - these in some ways were more film projects than exercise videos (in that production regard) Most of us would prefer to have breaks to get our stuff set up w/out having to pause! Great idea on the kids decluttering. I have one more area to look through for DVDs/videos to trade/give away and then I want to sit down and organize them all. I'm trying to be as "ruthless" as possible in my decisions to keep or give away. I have too much stuff! I also am planning on going through a drawer or closet section of mine a few times a week. I have too many clothes that i don't wear and most are way out of style now anyway. I'm pretty good on staying on top of DD's clothes - mostly b/c she grows so fast that we need t wardrobe change often. I usually give her stuff to my neighbor who has a 3 1/2 year old. Hope everyone has a good day, Donna From: nancydewolf@... <nancydewolf@...>Subject: The FIRM Vol. 4 Date: Thursday, May 28, 2009, 10:46 AM I am short on time so "Time Crunched Workout" was just right for me except I had a hard time getting into it for some reason. I really like it a lot too. I think I'm just not getting enough sleep because all my workouts seem to be like that lately. I chose not to do the Dork Dance this time, instead I watched it and put away my weights which were scattered all over the floor like confetti since I was having a hard time choosing weights today (I'd start too heavy or too light and change midway through the reps). Interesting things I noticed this time through (the 2nd time)... I still hate Kai's stepping sections but I almost caught onto her "alternate" cue. She still messed me up a few times on that one though... they don't give enough time to switch weights and equipment (it seems other FIRM workouts do better on this)... for the first stepping section the box mysteriously and suddenly appears in front of each exerciser. They don't go and get it I don't think, it just seems to materialize, I'll have to watch that section more closely next time... they also suddenly do not have shoes on for the abs work... I was too busy taking off my ankle weights to notice them taking off their shoes and socks but I'm quite sure there was no cue to do it. I was midway through the abs when I realized they were pointing their toes and wanted to point mine too and then realized I could see their toes! I don't know if they're shown on screen taking off the shoes or not but I doubt it, next time I'll look up as I take off my ankle weights. My arms are quite pleasantly sore from Tony's PHH Arm Toner yesterday so I tried to go light on upper body weights (but I like upper body a lot so it is like a drug and I wasn't always successful at lightening as much as I should have). They'll get a rest for a few days though so I'm okay with having done more today. Tomorrow is cardio + lower body + abs, Saturday is a rest day and Sunday is either a rest day or or a stretch. Off to pick up some stuff from freecycle soon and then work from there. I'm not getting exercise stuff but among other things I'm getting a life vest for Miriam. Her uncle and great grandmother both want to take her and fishing and he has a life jacket, also from freecycle, but she doesn't. I love freecycle and need to post yet more stuff the kids have gotten rid of soon. I need to go through my own stuff soon too and start posting that stuff. I've been having them, with any extra time before school, find at least 1 thing for every minute they have free (so this morning they had 10 minutes before we had to put backpacks on, do our off to school blessing and them head to the bus stop). They usually find much more. They are throwing out tons of junk that has accumulated (literal junk like scraps of paper all wadded up inside a desk, etc.) and finding toys they used to love and might again now that they can see them and others they sure they won't. I definitely need to do the same... after school lets out though. Between home responsibilities, work and end of the school year activities I am totally maxed out right now! I hope everyone has great workouts today!

Guest guest
Hi Donna! Thanks for telling me I wasn't seeing things today! I was half cracking up and half getting annoyed with it! I can see if I did this on a regular basis I might get the cueing down but wow... I gotta remember to pull this out only on short days where I've got patience and energy to deal with Kai I think. I should, in theory, be able to concentrate on my own decluttering after school gets out. I'll still be working but I'll have more time since I won't be also running to dance and other activities (not that we do a lot but any cut into my time). I too will do a drawer or section of a closet or room at a time. I have to go through everyone's winter stuff soon too! Sooner or later the kids will start bugging me to help them do it if I don't get to it! Guest guest
I really liked it a lot the first time I did it but this time it was kind of annoying. I'm definitely not ready to get rid of it, but it has to go better next time (actually, my workouts in general need to go better so I'm not sure it was so much the workout but me also). Guest guest
ahhhh... that makes sense! And yes, it does take longer because of having to do all that! I'll have to make a note of this so I remember that when the HRM says it really took closer to 50 minutes that it really did (and not try to figure out why it did, now I know why).
