AND LOVED HER!!!!!!!  Wow, it went sooo good.  I know I mentioned how fit she was, and hoped I'd be able to work her enough.  Well, she got an awesome workout :)  And she didn't fail to tell me over and over :)  We did upper body, abs, and bosu.   I told her ahead of time that I would tell her to keep going w/ abs and I would probably stop early because it gets very hard to instruct while working the abs hard.  Happily,  I was able to do all with her and she was challenged thoroughly.  I kept the rest periods pretty much non-existant.  She also has never done a plank before and loved them as well :)   She did a lot of groaning :) We only spent about 20 minutes on cardio, but we were both a sweaty mess.  I'm just thrilled to have found a client who wants to work out HARD, and loves fitness probably as much as I do! :)

Anyway, had to share.  She's definitely my favorite client, thus far........ :)Darcy

Oh this is so exciting, Darcy! I'm also a tad jealous, as you two have this

instant special rapport. I have no idea if Noel truly likes me and wants to

train me or if I'm just another client. I know I will eventually have to start

paying for these and that's okay, but I hope I don't bore him all the same.

I look forward to these sessions a LOT but in reality I'm probably just one of

many he does this with but irrationally I want to be his favorite client.

You make perfect sense .  Honestly, I don't know how you couldn't be.  I think that most people who hire trainers do it because they aren't motivated to do it on their own.  Yes, there are some out there who are already into fitness, but the majority are not.  You are fit, and a hard worker.  He is very lucky to have you!!!!!!!!!

I would LOVE to have you, and I KNOW you'd be a favorite if you were one of my clients :)DarcyOn Wed, Jun 10, 2009 at 1:03 AM, Pink <pinkpussycat@...> wrote:

Very cool, Darcy! This reminds me of teaching taekwondo. It's refreshing to

train somebody who has both talent AND the desire to work hard. Enjoy your new

client!

Really? (about your trainer comment) I thought trainers were suppose to help you develop a training plan and guide you to your fitness goals. So you REALLY think that most of the people go to Personal Trainers because they don't have motivation to workout unless they go...? If I had the money I would go but not for the motivation....I would go to have someone set up a fitness routine for me....I'm not sure I would ever be able to afford it or be able to trust the trainer if I had the money. With my bad knees and feet, I know what I can and can't do so I wouldn't want someone to try and force me into doing something I shouldn't do.

Well yes.  It goes hand in hand.  Of course trainers develop a training plan and are there to get you to your fitness goals.  But, a lot of clients also come for the motivation.  Some come for both.  Most of my clients do little to nothing at home, and get their exercise solely with me.  It's frustrating..........

I know a lot of people in WW hire personal trainers for exactly that reason. They think it will kick them in the butt and make them work out if they hire someone to push them to do it. And I agree, many do not workout on their own for the same reason. More than a few people come to WW too expecting me to put together a daily menu plan for them so that they won't have to figure anything out for themselves. They'll do it if it is all planned out and super easy. Of course, they can't learn how to take care of themselves that way and that's not the way we do it. Those people usually give up fairly quickly because it is not "easy enough" for them. In other words, it requires too much of a commitment to their own health. I totally feel your frustration, Darcy!

Glad you can relate .  I think it's ludicrous.  Reasons (or excuse) after another for not being able to get a workout(s) in.  And w/ them paying a trainer too.  Man, it's not cheap!  I don't charge a ton, but still.....
