Guest guest
Hey Jenn,I checked out the website for these and, do you mind if I ask- do you think for an older child, almost 3, there is any point in switching to these, as a BIG blow out is something we want to rid ourselves of ASAP?! The reason I ask is I am sure they are way better for the environment, but it seems like something to do when your baby is younger, not right before potty training. This is just me thinking out loud/in print. It sounded like on the website that there is an insert and the rest is plastic or a wipe-off surface, but to wipe off a big poo would be pretty crazy in a hectic day...doesn't Cole go #2 in the potty now? I may be too lazy for this, but they do look nice! You have more energy than me, you young Mom.Heidi, Bexon's Mommy, (2 and a half years old, in 6th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 25 in cast)From: genericallyloud <jennifer.leggett@...>infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Fri, April 23, 2010 12:52:24 PMSubject: Re: DIAPERING I switched to cloth diapers after your positive reviews. I am now using them with Cole in cast. I use the flip diaper system , it is fairly new on the market. I already wrote a couple days ago about it but I will update. It is a one size fits all diaper so I have been able to set it for the lowest setting so it doesn't need to be tucked under the diaper. It has a pocket in both the front and the back to hold in the pad, which I would imagine would help catch any poop explosions. I also bet that you could put it on backwards if you needed so that there would be a bigger pocket in back which would likely help even more. I find them so so easy, and we have has no leaking what so ever. Cole doesn't tend to leak anyways, but I feel like these would work a bit better even. I bet you could even use the cloth diaper cover over the regular diaper for extra protection. I buy mine at cottonbabies. com. Guest guest
Thanks, Jenn! I do have to call you soon to catch up, have I told you lately that you are AWESOME?! And that we all love you?!!! I would totally try these if I had a younger baby.Heidi, Bexon's Mommy, (2 and a half years old, in 6th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 25 in cast)From: genericallyloud <jennifer.leggett@...>To: infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Fri, April 23, 2010 7:41:17 PMSubject: Re: DIAPERING I don't know if there is a point of switching. I probably wouldn't have switched if we were not about to have a second baby and were so close to potty training. I will say that you could put the cover over underwear so that they do not leak all over, I know that I will do that for cole. The covers are $13.95. Like I said Cole never has blow outs so I don't know if it would hold in better than a disposable diaper for sure, I am just guessing. When they poop you do get it on both the pad and some one the cover. The cover is so easy to rinse off. You can buy a sprayer and spray off the poop into the toilet and then just throw it in the wash within 2 days. It isn't too bad, but more work then a disposable. They do make disposable inserts so you can just throw them away instead of washing them. I have not tried them yet. Cole pees in the potty sometimes but NEVER poops in the potty, so I use them for everything right now. Give me a call if you want to know more about them. Too bad you don't live near us I could let you try one out.
