Guest guest
Morning! A pediatrician friend of mine recently submitted a letter to the editor of Contemporary Pediatrics re: ET. Im not impressed at all with the docs comments at the bottom, but am excited that they decided to print info on the ET casting alternative! We all know casting to manage scoli is not new, but utilizing EDF casting early to cure progressive infantile scoliosis IS new. Its obvious that this doc is also under the impression that the casting we are talking about is the same as the old way of casting with the goal being to maintain…….The lack of appropriate casting frames is only one reason ET is not available to all who need it, but the main reason is lack of knowledge, not equipment. I believe that the recent study of 16 patients should state in BOLD letters that the majority of these kiddos were not treated early enough.
