Guest guest
I haven't had any trouble, but I live in TX. Laws may be different. All I did was call the school and tell them that we were homeschooling him indefinitely and I wanted his records. They sent them with no trouble. (We have since interviewed another shcool an hour away, moved, and enrolled him with outstanding success!) Look in your school handbook and see what the laws are regarding parental access to school records. Or google California Law shcool records. ~ > > Anyone here get the runaround when trying to obtain school > records?????? > > in Lancaster, Ca >
Guest guest
I have just received a fat file from the school in response to my Subject Access request. There is nothing, nichts, nada to show that the school ever discusses him or that there is a target setting process. Surely they MUST have a file or files on him monitoring day to day progress? There really appears to be NOTHING! All they have is a collection of reports (many supplied by me), his Statement (no appendices), Annual review meeting forms and stuff from his old school. What should I ask for please? This stuff must be somewhere! Margaret
Guest guest
I don't think it's a question of sanitising they file - they simply have provided NO information showing how they record and assess his progress, no record of speech therpay sessions, OT sessions, how they arrive at his IEP targets, how they feed back our notes of the ABA meetings. No record of his being seen by professionals; no records of any school meetings discussing him etc etc. This is precisely the information I need! Margaret It would be nice if we could meet up and perhaps go out, yes, that's a good idea, thanks! > > > > > > > I have just received a fat file from the school in response to my Subject > > Access request. > > > > There is nothing, nichts, nada to show that the school ever discusses him > > or that there is a target setting process.
