Hi all

Peyton will be going in for what the doctor said is most likely to be his last cast and then will be moving to a brace. Allthough I'm overwhelmed with excitement I am very worried about how he will react without the cast on. He already has low muscle tone so I can't imagine how floppy he will be without the cast. He has never had a cast break in almost a year (they remove and re-apply at the same time) since he was 10 months old and now at 20 months he has never felt what it feels like to be cast free. Has anyone had constant casting with no breaks? and if so how did your child react at first out of the cast? Are they typically really floppy because they havent the cast to support them anymore? I would love to hear from anyone who could help me prepare for what Peyton might feel at first cast free.

Thanks

Lynn
