Guest guest
So we went to ish Rite yesterday for cast number 4 for Hayden. Our Dr's nurse emailed me and told me that Hayden's curve measured 39 degrees. The Dr feels it really is staying the same and not improving as much as he would like. He feels a brace right now would do the same thing for Hayden and hold him off from having surgery. If he starts to progress again, he will put him back in a cast. So I am now faced with the fact that casting really hasn't worked and my son will have surgery. I know 39 degrees isn't TOO high but it isn't in the teens either. My husband wants to try bracing and feels that our Dr knows what he is doing. I am not a medical person by any means, I just am scared to stop casting. Thank you all for listening BTW, we asked if Hayden could skip the versed since it really stresses him out to take any medicine, so they let us. AND he did GREAT, he walked back to the surgery room with the anesthesiologist and the nurse said they put the mask on, he counted to 6 and he went to sleep. GO HAYDEN. I am glad I spoke up about that. I KNOW my child best.
