Guest guest
Hello everyone - I am a new member and have been reading up on the posts here. It is good to know I have alot of company:) My daughter started having fevers about 2 years ago (she is 6) and we moved to a new area so when I brought this up to her new pediatrician she just wrote it off. However, since I am an RN and an FNP student -I figured it out o my own and took her to the cheif of infectious disease at Montefiore (friend of a friend) who confirmed the diagnosis. Whew - a relief after contemplating what else could be happening. I spoke with him at length regarding treatment and expectations. Since the literature is unclear regarding tonsilectomy - the studies are small and results are inconclusive -am wondering why so many people are choosing this option? I am curious...
