My son had his first flu shot right before he starting fevering. With the 1st

flu shot, they ask that they go back & get a second shot. He had such a

difficult time with the 1st shot, I refused to go back & get the second. It was

about 2 weeks after his shot (and that fever) that he started his first fever &

fevered regularly after that.

Always wondered if there was any connection, but it is hard to tell.

Hi there

We have never had a flu shot so that couldn't have been a trigger for us but

Emma's fevers first started after a Prevenar shot and I have always associated

that with the start of her cycles.

My son had the Prevenar shots as well with no side effects.

Who knows what triggers these things... we're just glad to be fever free since

March 2008, Emma's T & A surgery..

My son has never had a flu shot, so there definitly is no link for us.

However, a shot of any sort would trigger an episode. I sometimes wonder if it

is just the stress of getting a shot that causes an episode to come on.

We have been very conservative with immunizations, as we are on a delayed

schedule.

Mahalo for your feedback. I wanted to state that I think that my daughter's

fevers are much more sever in sickness and duration after a flu shot, but I

don't think that the flu shot or any vaccines are the cause of her . I

thought it would be interesting to see if anyone else feels they shouldn't give

their child the flu shot as well; being that they really don't get any

regular illnesses anyway.

Hi there

My child has a formal diagnosis of and has picked up other normal viral

illnesses. Our specialists believe that every child is different and that their

immune systems can respond very differently- meaning some children may

catch normal viral illnesses and others may not.

Hope this makes sense.

I was so happy to read your email as well. My son is the same with his colds-

they are not that severe and resolve quite quickly!

I truly believe that there is much to learn about this syndrome and that every

child reacts differently to it. We are seeing our Specialists at Sick Kids

hospital in Toronto on May 7th, so I will follow up on the viral illness piece

again.

Regards,

Mother to 3.5 years old- fevering since 8 months.
