Guest guest
if he drank so much chocolate milk yesterday that is probably why he has the runny poop, i recommend,..since my daughter when through this too, as long as she gets a spoonful of water every hour or so she should be okay, i would not give her milk (at least not so much) since it might be to harsh for her stomach, however if this is the only thing she is drinking it might be better than nothing try to give her strawberries or grapes cut in little piece...how old is she? How old are your children and how far apart did they catch this? Malox in my opinion is really strong for a 2 year old..try natural stuff that will make him feel confortable and reduce the fever...with my daughter she got it when she was 10 months old until she was 4 and we never gave her medication...it will go away with time..the difficult thing is to make them drink water and eat while they are sick...they will probably wont eat much just watch their weight. Guest guest
I use 100% Aloe Vera liquid for my daughter when she is suffering with cancer sores. " 's " is the company that makes the liquid bitter free and has a pleasant tastes. My daughter says it help. My doctor also suggested a mixture of Malox and liquid Benedril, but my daughter says Aloe helps better. Good luck. I know it is not easy to see them suffer. Guest guest
It's my son, he is 27 months. The doctor is the one who said only milk or water or ice cream, but he says all of that hurts. The doctor said don't even try food because salt, or acidity will hurt like nuts, and sure enough he can't get anything in there without screaming for hours afterwards. He had one bowl of vanilla ice cream yesterday, half a glass of water, and one glass of plain milk. He doesn't seem dehydrated, and when I called the nurse back she said the virus will cause runny poos, but to just increase his intake of fluid...yeah right! HOW lol Our doctor told us he isn't worried about food, he can survive a month without eating as long as he drinks. So that's my struggle now. My daughter has , my son does NOT. He caught this about 4 days ago, and my daughter has not caught it as of yet.

Guest guest
I'll try that! I read about the Malox mix, but the pharmacist said no because he is too young not to swallow. He's just barely two so he wont get the rince effect and said he can't swollow it yet. But the Aloe idea sounds really great...thanks! Guest guest
We've used Zilactin Mouth Sore Gel and it works great. I also cut down on dairy (I know opposite of what the doctors say) because I think it aggravates them. The Zilactin works like a charm and we also give her zinc lozenges to help with the healing. Guest guest
Thank you! It's funny, we don't actually have alot of milk in this house. I only went and bought some because the doctors reasoning seemed okay...that calcium is what they put in antacids, and those cut the acidity down which will help the burning, and the fat with act as a coating in there. After we run out of this dairy stash that'll probably be it for us. I did get a prescription for that gel...he hates it in his mouth but I'm stickign with it! Thank you!!!
