Prednisone works on anyone with inflammation I take it myself if I get virago

but I think with its the temp. that the dr. is talking about. It can

bring the temp down on kids. but with fmf they still get the inflammation

in the body. Don't quote me not all DR. s say the same thing every dr. has his

or her own way of thinking.

Sorry I wasn't clear -- I believe my son's Dr said that the Prednisone

will only bring down the fever, not the TRAPS or FMF fever. We

never got into detail about the actual inflammation. Does Prednisone

bring down the FMF fever? or the TRAPS fever?

It just desn't make sense to me that Prednisone only brings down the

fever as they all seem to work off the same inflammation

principal.

Hi Vivian,

As Fran mentioned, prednisone is used in all the fever disorders. It

varies in effectiveness from person to person.

The " works only if it's " theory was a common one a few years

ago. my doctor thought she ruled out genetic disorders with the

success of prednisone, but alas, both my girls have genetic HIDs.

I hope you get good results with the prednisone.
