Guest guest
I was wondering we have no daignosis as of yet. Heck I just got my Dr. to lsiten to me. after over 2 yrs of fevers. I am leaning towards , It fits my daughter almost to the tee. She is due to have her shots for kindegarten soon. (next 2 wks) and am wondering what others think of loading their bobies with these shots. I know they are needed but is it " safe " to give all the shots at once or should I split them up. I know she needs 4 maybe 5 shots. She is well now and should be for 3 more wks or so. Hopeing for longer some how managed to book our disney vacation when she is around cycyling time. But I really wnat others advice on this. What are your Dr.'s saying. Not sure I fully trust our Dr. right know. thanks MItzi
Guest guest
My daughter was due for K shots when her occasional fevers became a regular nightmare. I have ALWAYS split kids shots. I never allow more than one shot at a time and if I could split MMR and DPT into 3 different vaccines, I would do that too . Anyway, she didn't get any shots at 5yr check up. I have signed a waiver in school (it is easy in CA) and off she went to K. I gave her 4 months to recover from T & A and to make sure the fevers won't return before resuming the shots. We are still working to complete them all. Oh, and our pediatrician was fully on my side. She knew nothing about though just didn't think it is right to vaccinate the child who clearly has some unresolved health issues.
Guest guest
Reading the posts about the shots come at a good time for me...as I just scheduled mine for a shot next week ((ugh)). I have not posted in a while as my dd fevers seems to be 'gone' for right now. We missed June & now it looks like July. I know well enough from these boards that really means nothing...anyways in our case we have no dx but have eliminating a lot with the genetic testing. The reason I did schedule my dd for a shot is she is very 'behind' & we have a follow up with rhumetology later in August. The specialist we have seen are very surprised (and not happy) that my dd has not received all her shots. So knowing we are going in I feel pressured to at least do one vaccine. We have done hib but thats it so far. It seems very scary to me to give them shots & esp. not knowing exactly what is wrong with her. So I don't have any advice to give on this as I am just as confused as you can see! Mom to Emma fevering since 9 weeks...now 16 months old! Guest guest
Thanks everyone. for your help I am still confused. School here starts Aug 24, and we are on Vacation from Aug 14-19. I have to do shots by Monday the latest incase she has some kinda reaction. I personally feel it could over load her sysytem to get the shots. she needs 4 maybe 5 shots all at once. But I am the only one who feels that way. My husband is great but when it comes to the kids and mainly the medical I am all by myself. He will give me an answer like I am not a DR. but a cop how am I surppose to know. and leaves it at that with no answr. or he will answer and then when I try to explain my reasoning or opinions he gets mad and says dod what ever you want. Men are really butts sometimes. I often think and ask him what would or will happen if anything ever happens to me. How will ha care for the kids medically. My Dr. is not on my side and thinks I am over reacting to her fevers and begining sick. Heck I asked for a med. that will lesson the pain of needles numb up the area for her shots and Iv(for Ct scan and furure blood draws) you would think I asked him to pay a million $ for it. It is my money and can't hurt to at least try it. I am nerve about if she has all the shots and something happens how will I ever forgive myself for not speaking up for her. and how wil I ever be able to look into her blue eyes and not rememmber failing her. Thansk Talking to other swho understand and have or are going thought it helps. Mitzi

Guest guest
I understand what your going through. I got my daughter all her shots in the beginning of her life. But after she started to fever, she hasn't gotten a shot since. I've decided to stop giving them. I will more then likely take the religious exemption road, when she enters school. The fevers started out of nowhere she was a healthy baby, I don't know what causes the fevers..... and I don't think it was the shots..... BUT there is no absolute proof to that..... So for now I've decided to not vaccinate. Good luck with whatever choose. Hali mom to Sky 3.5 fevers since 1 year old
Guest guest
Our 22 month old son has only had a single vaccination shot, dTap, at 3 months old. His fevers started at 8 months old.
Guest guest
why no shots that is kind of dangerous.., the shots might have compromised her or his immune system this does not mean that the shots is the underlining cause for the disease, charlene how old is your child and when he or she contracted the fevers, what are the main symptoms and does he have any siblings? mullikin
Guest guest
Can you let us know how everything started the age of contraction, siblings, place of contraction, and someo the symptoms or even how often your child suffered from , and also how long has he been out of it? mullikin
