I've never heard of synkensis syndrome, couldn't find much at all about it on the Internet, does it go by another name??? No post too large or too small, venting is great for us all...

Hi Helen

you may not find it on the internet as it is a very rare eye condition, there is only 10 sufferers in the world and two of them in the uk and we both live in the same town.

its constant double vision and there is no cure.

i went to bed with most terrible headache and next day had double vision friend rushed me to the eye unit in the townthey couldn't find a cause for the double vision i had many brain scans to find out, they tried to correct the double vision by operating but it went wrong.

they finallly decided that my muscles in the eyes have decided too not work together and cause the double vision also the muscle in one eye don't want to workeven on their own. i may see double but at least i can still see even if it is all muddled up and a bit hazy.

my consultant thinks there are more suffererers in the world but doctors don't regconise the illness.

thank-you for the welcome

love

Hi Helen

sorry i haven't answered you before today but i just spent 11 days in hospital on a iv drip for 10 of those 11 days actually though i'm home today is my first day of the drip, they sent me home because there is a bug on ward i was in and its safer at home with the district nurses. i didn't think i was going to make it. the infection was bad but they had awful job with my veins kept collapsing on them i'm covered in bruises. but it is good to be home. i'm still at risk because of certain levels that have to be checked weekly and hopefully will improve as the steriods go down. i hate crohns never realised how ill it can make you.
